Power is out here, so good reason to break open a tester bottle of mead, eh?

I thought this was a bottle of my cyser that finished semi-dry/semi-sweet. Nope. This was a very sweet, dessert wine-ish bottle that was thick with residual honey. I had a tester of the cyser two months ago, it was not at all like this. For the life of me I can't remember what I put in this bottle. Grabbed my hydrometer to see where this thing was at. It was a 1.020. Learned a great lesson about final gravities and my own tastes from this. Never allowing a final gravity above 1.010, unless I'm looking for something really sweet, and even then, 1.015 is the limit. Bleh! I actually dumped the glass, it was too sweet to drink.

Have you ever found a mystery bottle? What's your story?

Ha! got gallons like that. Less to do with a power outage and more about being very haphazard when it comes to keeping records and making sure that I use good labels while its ageing......
