I have no experience with those. I use #9 long corks to bottle all my wine with.
I assume if they seal, they'll be good for short term storage.

Out of interest, what is the maximum length of time you would store a tapered-corked wine for? When that time draws close, is it okay to switch for a streight cork then?

I'm going to have to restate my opinion on these. I initially thought you were referring to the agglomerated corks with chamfered edges as opposed to natural corks with straight sides. I'd avoid using tapered corks for anything other than closing the bottle for a few days after removing the permanent cork. Sorry for the confusion.
