Brewin' up my first sour beer tomorrow. It's been awhile since I listened the Jamil episode on Flanders Red, so, short of scanning the podcast for this info...should I make a starter for the Roeselare activator?

Are you pitching it straight into the wort or fermenting with a ale yeast first? My pack of Roeselare blend came yesterday.:mug:

Is there a commercial variety of this to try? I would like to try it, but I'm not into making something that far from what I'm familiar with and not knowing what I'm shooting for.

I pitched it directly into the wort since that is what the breweries do. Also I didn't make a starter either.

For comercial examples try Rodenbach (or the Grand Cru my personal favorite) comma Duchesse de Bourgogne comma or for Flanders Brown try Liefman's Goudenbond.
