How does this malt bill sound for my first self designed recipe for a Quad/Belgian dark strong ale?
10 gallon recipe
30 lbs 2 row
2 lbs carapils
2 lbs Crystal 40
4 lbs special roast
1 lbs chocolate malt
90 min mash at 150 deg
60 min boil
3 oz Columbus at 60 min
2 lbs sugar after first 24 hours fermintation
2 lbs sugar after 48 hours fermintation
Wyeast 3787
This is my first self designed recipe. Just thought I would run it by you all for some feedback. I want this to be a dark, roasty, sneaky smooth 12%er that makes all good in the world. I will call it Magic Carpet Ride :)
