Is it in a carboy or a bucket? In a bucket, it will be fine, in a carboy you are better off covering it with something (t shirt is a good idea).
 
Ambient light is OK....it's not visible light that skunks up beer: it's UV light. Direct sunlight has a lot of UV light....suntan lamps have a lot of UV light. As long as you aren't trying to get an indoor tan, I'm guessing you don't have enough UV light in your house to skunk your beer :D
 
Like davesrose said, just be careful with those full spectrum lights. We have 3 in our house in various rooms and I have to be mindful about them not shining into the bathroom or closet or wherever I have my primary sitting.
