Either way, it looks like an infection to me. Seeing as how you posted in the sour beer category, I'm going to assume you've made a beer using brett, and this is perfectly normal in that case.
It's not really a fermenter. I had like 2L extra wort/trub left from my last batch of Kolsch and decided pour it in this plastic container to see whatbugs I would come up with. So you think this is Brett? I'm pretty sure the beer fermented out because I actually pitched some Hoagarden dregs into it and had krausen. This thing is about 2 weeks old.
BTW: This may look like a large vessel on the pics but it's actually a small plastic bin.
