Fermentation is nearly complete on my IPA and everything looked good but i noticed there wasn't much krausen... maybe half an inch of foam. Is this normal? The red ale looks like it has a layer cake on top of it. Nice thick krausen...
But the IPA not so much. Should I be concerned? Otherwise it looks healthy and normal.

I wouldn't worry. if it tastes great, don't give yourself an ulcer. I've had many brews ranging the spectrum with a low krausen come out great.

As long as its fermenting and finishes up close to where it should then I wouldn't worry about it.
Sometimes I don't get much krausen, sometimes its rushing out the blowoff tube. Like I said, no biggie as long as the yeast do their job.
