Hey, this is my first attempt at creating my own recipe so I thought I'd post it here to try and get some feedback/advice. It's going to be an English brown ale.

Target OG: 1.053
Volume: 5 gallons
IBU: 27.7

Pale 2-row = 8lbs
Muntons British Crystal Malt (55L) = 1.5lb
Muntons Chocolate Malt = 4oz
Muntons Black Patent Malt = 2oz

1 oz Fuggle (4.2%) 60min - 16.4 IBU
3/4 oz East Kent Goldings (5.8%) 15 min - 11.3 IBU

Nottingham English Ale Yeast

I'm also considering adding 1/8 teaspoon of salt to the boil to give it a little more body. Any feedback would be appreciated :)

Never heard of the salt to the boil to give it more body theory.

I think the 1.5 lbs of crystal malt might be too much, I'd cut it back to 1.0 or maybe 0.75 lbs.

Have fun!
