I just got a bourbon barrel from a local brewery. I'm wondering what I have to do to clean it, or do I just pour from my secondary right into it? I want to get something in there asap, as the wood is still very moist, and I live in a very dry climate. Is a bourbon rinse enough to "clean" it?
The barrel has been empty for less than a few weeks.:drunk:

Bump. I would be interested in this too. I have been wanting to buy a Bourbon/Whiskey barrel to age/flavor some beers in but I have heard that maintaing these barrels can be quite involved and if done wrong can ruin a barrel.
