So I did up a batch of graff's last night this pic is what I found this morning. Ferment with Nottingham is well underway at about 12 hours in foam blew my Carboy cap and airlock off an it's like a child's volcano project in here. All the brew shops in my area are closed I'll have to try to rig up a blow off system.

Starting grav was 1.51

What a mess .... Smells great though.

I make it a habit of putting a blow off on all my primaries for the first couple of days. I cant tell you how many times i came home to that

As long as it going out like that, you're in no danger of any bad bugs getting into it. If it calms down, you could put a sanitized piece of aluminum foil loosely over the top of the carboy - will let out the CO2 but keep out the airborne wild yeasts and their friends.
