Hi all,

I did a search but didn't find anything...

When I was building my keezer, I accidentally bought a 240V STC-1000. I didn't bother returning it, just ordered another one in 120V.

But now I'm thinking of building an eHLT and wondering if I can use this? I've heard there's some issue with the STC being "Full on" or "Full Off" instead of pulsing, but that doesn't seem like a deal-breaker. Is there anything else that makes this a bad fit for a HLT? I'd love to just set the temp & walk away....

To get your HLT to temp within a few degrees swing, it will work absolutely fine. That swing may or may not be acceptable to you if you were experiencing it controlling mash temp.

Some limitations of the STC1000
* Temp in Deg C
* Low power internal relay. Should be adequate to control a pump (HERMS) or internal relay could drive a external contactor or SSR to control an element.
* Need a thermowell for temp sensor.
