I am getting ready to buy my 3-position illuminated hand-off-auto switches for my BCS control panel, looking at automation direct... will start with ones for HLT heater, BK heater, RIMS heater, and 2 pumps

yellow is the cheapest, any reason other than aesthetics I would want to conform to a standard? i.e red sounds seems good for a heater, if I had a dedicated chiller, maybe blue..

Can you tell me the part number for the switches? If I were using illuminated switches, I would use red for elements and blue for pumps.

In my mind... Red is alarm or emergency.
I went with Green for Power On, Yellow for elements and Blue for pumps.
My E-Stop button is red but not illuminated.

There may be a standard, but I think it's 100% your choice.

Kal did blue for power and green for pumps, but I think I will reverse it if I ever really build this thing. Pump/water/blue seems more intuitive to me.

Same for me:
EMG/Alarm = Red
On = Green (Pumps + Main Power Light)
Element on = Yellow
