Looking for a good place to eat before the game, and I want to make sure there will be a good taplist as well...

any suggestions?

Go to the Gaslamp district. Too many places to mention.

Tons of *****y clubs.

If you want the best selection downtown, there are two places. One is Downtown Johnny Brown's and the other is The Neighborhood.

JB's is a bit further from the park, but has been around longer. Neighborhood is a little more upscale, and typically has really good handles, but I hate the vibe of the place. That's not to say I won't go there, I just feel like I'm in a yuppie trap and I never quite get in the mood of the place.

That said, I think the Neighborhood being closer, with great food and a good tap list will be your best bet.

I wanted to go to Neighborhood, but the food was deemed too pricey.

We decided to go to http://wolffysplace.com/contact.html

We're going Friday, they got 13 taps. Lots of stone, some Lost Abbey, Airdale.

I'll post back what I think...

Edit: And... uhm yeah. I know about the Gaslamp. I work at the Convention Center a couple times a year...
I was looking for more unknown spots. Neighborhood would have been goos but it was voted down.

You might want to try The Waterfront over in Little Italy. It's a quick cab ride from Petco.

Little Italy has some unbelievably kick-arse restaurants as well.
