C02 injector

Hi all I recently bought a c02 injector and put it on my barrel today and put a 8 gram cartridge in the holder and screwed it on following the instructions and its just blowing straight up and none of the co2 is going in to the barrel I have tried 5 cartridges so far and not one has worked is there something I should have done with it before using it or anything I could be doing wrong ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

can you give a better description then "its just blowing straight up". i'm not sure what you mean by that. or maybe put together soemthing in paint that shows a description of what you mean?

you may have the wrong type of cartridge

This is the valve and when you screw the disposable cylinder on to it with the cylinder holder it comes upwards towards your hand. I have contacted the seller and they have said they think it may be a faulty valve if its not letting the C02 through so they are sending me a replacement.
