messed up alcohol thermometer

I was mashing in this morning, and accidentally bumped my thermometer off the mash tun...It hit head first on the floor and now the top of the red line has what look like bubbles. I know they arent' bubbles really, but is there anything I can do to get a solid red line again, or do I have to toss this one and get a new thermometer?

The thermometer is useless now. You could try heating the bulb enough to push the alcohol to the top making one bubble on top.

Too much heat and it will burst.
