    Men who sit to pee

Only in the middle of the night when it’s dark and I’m tired and don’t want to stand. That being said, I don’t have an issue with any dude who wants to sit to pee. Doesn’t make you less of a man

    Starter worries?

Probably freaking out over nothing but a few drops of water from the tap dropped into my starter growler when I poured the wort in. Any worries of contamination in my yeast starter?

    Raspberry Wheat Help

That poster was probably getting his beer advice from that Miller Lite Commercial with Burt Reynolds in it telling everyone "not to fruit the beer".

    Raspberry Wheat Help

McCormick's makes tons of different extracts. I wonder if their other extracts would be just as good in specialty beers?

    Raspberry Wheat Help

Thanks. Gonna go on Amazon now and check it out. I have had bad experiences with using real fruit and purees in the past.

    Raspberry Wheat Help

I realize taste is subjective so there are no wrong answers here, just trying to gauge your input. I'm going to be making a raspberry wheat which will be essentially me adding raspberry extract to the keg at packaging. I really want a nice shot of raspberry flavor, not just a hint because my...

    Show us your Kegerator

Just a standard Kegco keggerator. I would like to build something but not that handy and don't have a lot of time so this will have to do. Just got it set up and have my first keg carbing up now. Noticed that the beer connector slowly leaks out the top so it's either the connector or the...

LHBS Manager Here...What Do You Want From The LHBS?

Every HBS I've ever been in the owners and/or employees always seem to have a snobby or holier than thou attitude. Every shop I've been to has always been great at making me feel stupid if I ask a question that apparently everyone should know the answer to.

    Worst Craft Breweries

Please keep in mind taste is a subjective thing. What one person may love another can't stand. With that said, there is a brewpub in the Chicago suburbs I cannot stand called Stockholm's. I've given it two tries and each time their beer tastes severely infected. I also think Magic Hat does...

What came in the mail for you today?

Kegco homebrew keggerator showed up just in time to keg the pale ale I have sitting in the secondary! Woo hoo!!!! :mug:

Anyone aspiring to open a brewery?

I would only do it if I hit the Powerball and could finance it myself. It's such a risky business and seems to be more headache than it is worth. It's a great hobby but I wouldn't want to go any further than that.

    Partial mash vs partial extract

Brewing a partial mash doesn't mean your less of a brewer than people doing all grain. I love doing both but have started doing more partial mash because of the control you have hitting numbers. If you're looking to do a double IPA or anything with higher gravity it is much easier to hit with...

    Chili Recommendation

Hey all, I'm going to be brewing a saison in a few weeks and I was initially wanting to do a jalapeno and cilantro saison. I really like those flavors and I think a saison would be a good vehicle to incorporate them into a beer. I brewed an habanero saison a few years back and it had a...

    90 minute boil question

I apologize for how stupid this question may seem to some of you. I just don't want to mess my beer up. I'm going to be attempting my first 90 minute boil for a saison recipe with pilsner malt. I'm assuming the hops would go in at the 60 minute mark after 30 minutes of boiling correct? You...

    Airlock mess

I'm on day 3 of fermentation on my pale ale. The beer has decided it would be a good idea to overflow the airlock. Should I leave it be at this point or sanitize another airlock to swap the other one out with? This happened a few years back and everything was fine but wasn't sure if I...

    Yeast Starter Problems?

My question is two fold: 1) I completely flaked on the water for my started today. I had my bottled spring water right there and for some reason measured out 2 pints of tap water which I boiled with my DME. Is that going to have any effect on the flavor of the beer? Should I go out and buy...

    Damaged corny keg?

We recently moved and I finally decided to dig out my kegging equipment. I just noticed that during the move the "out" post on my corny keg has a slight dent in it. Based on this photo, can you tell whether or not this is damaged beyond use? I need to buy a new conversion kit so I'm not sure...

    Keggerator system recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a good keggerator system? I'm looking for a fridge with two tap handles built for corny kegs? Any brands that are better than others?

Heading to Chicago for the holidays, any beer recommendations?

Three Floyds is close enough to be considered Chicago. I like Two Brothers. They make some good beer. If you're close to the Aurora area check our the Two Brother's Roundhouse. I think they also opened a market complex in downtown Naperville. Solemn Oath in Naperville is also good as is...

opinions on moving from extract to all grain

I've done both successfully. This is just my humble opinion but for me BIAB is a much better alternative to the typical 3 tier system. Both make great beer but BIAB is easier, less equipment, less mess and less time. If you're going for that brewhouse experience or looking to go pro I would...
