    Prime dose capsules

If you ask me prime dose is worth the extra cost. It is as advertised. When I did the side by side the difference in carbonation was noticeable. The consistency in carbonation I had with prime dose was something I have never had before. It was great. I don't claim to be an expert home...

    Prime dose capsules

I am experimenting with the same capsules. I am doing 5 gallons priming sugar and 5 gallons prime dose. I really want to see if the prime dose does make it finish better or with a big difference. If it makes my beer finish that much better I will stick with them. It may be worth the cost. I...

    What to splurge on

I splurged on a stainless steel conical fermentor last year and love it! I would suggest that. I am not sure what equipment you already have, but I would say with $1,000 you can get a good fermentor and mash tun. If you already have a nice mash tun I would suggest a good kegerator to serve...

Help me figure out what went wrong?

I am not sure how much reading you did on the BIAB method before doing your first batch, but the biggest down fall I see is that it is not quite as efficient as the traditional all grain method. If you target AG was calculated assuming the traditional AG method of brewing the difference in OG...

    Plastic or glass carboy?

Glass all the way. Plastic tends to hold in past beer flavors more then glass. I would suggest getting a carrying cradle for it as well.

    Sanitizer sucked into fermentor

I have a stainless conical fermenter, with the L hose barb on the lid that has a hose that drops down into a bucket of sanitizer, which is used as my airlock. Last night when I was getting the fermenter ready to bottle I moved the hose and it acted like a vacuum and sucked some liquid (I...
