    PH Meter recs

Curious why this comes with a storage solution if you say it is stored dry, I checked the documentation on the website and it doesn’t say anything about storage–wet, dry, ,or otherwise...

Run away fermenter cooked my beer

Nice to see that things are back on line. Thanks to @day_trippr for his advice of adding a 1L starter to kick it off again.

Run away fermenter cooked my beer

@day_trippr, I am using Wyeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity. I pitched a 3L starter originally. I can do another 1L no problem.

Run away fermenter cooked my beer

I was fiddling with my fermentation chamber while fermenting my Belgian Dark Strong Ale, and I accidentally left the chamber temp probe outside the chamber. The controller dutifully started heating and didn’t stop until I checked it the next day. The beer was at 104F. I immediately noticed the...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

If I’m following this right, I don‘t think the SSR pin 1 should connect to the NC contact on the relay. This will still draw all the startup current through that contact and there is no need to do so unless you are trying to guarantee heating and cooling are not on at the same time. The software...

    Brew Bubbles: Web-Enabled Airlock

Whoa! Just read the thread on BrewBubbles from the BrewersFriend forum. Yikes! Can't say I understand what the beef was, but Lee, I personally am very glad for the efforts you have put into our hobby. Thank you! Let's just stay and play in this sandbox. And they call it BrewersFriend...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Bing! +1 to @day_trippr if using an SSR, run it straight from the Arduino. There are relays that can take more load than these std 10A versions so commonly and cheaply (meant both ways) available. But many may require a 12 of 24V coil supply even though many can still be switch with the 5V...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

@H0phead used the term SSR, but posted a picture using relays. The failure he describes is exactly how most SSRs fail—they tend to fail ‘on’. I feel any SSR from China needs to be viewed with skepticism. So many are marked falsely. Buy a good one from a reputable seller—I have bought several...

Graphing more than one Tilt in TiltPi

Is it possible to graph more than one Tilt on the same graph in TiltPi? I am using the TiltPi site and the included Google Sheets, but it only seems to track and chart one Tilt at a time. The UI screen displays multiple, but I can only seem to log/graph one at a time.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I would consider a relay for this application—presumably the AC unit will not be cycled on and off frequently. Besides, it will sound cool! :-)

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

With respect to making money (the dreaded P word), I truly hope you do someday. As this project matures, it would be great if you charged more and were able to make a profit. I prefer to pay for the products/solutions I use. For instance, there are plenty of free password management apps...

Surface Area vs Headspace When Force Cabonating

Yes. She knew I was force carbonating. We had even talked about the temp and pressure I am using. Using sugar would have the opposite effect she was talking about. As you mentioned, more headspace would likely slow the carbonation using sugar, but she thought it would speed the force...
