    Decreased Membership in Homebrew Club....

We have noticed a slump in our homebrew membership. Our remaining members are average age of mid 50's. We have non-brewing members but our ranks are shrinking. Are any other clubs have experiencing this? Has craft beer become so accessible that homebrewing is "no longer needed"? Have...

    Electrical help needed/explained

Yea, with all that crazy stuff going on I am forgoing the pot switch. I have adjusted the PID (Auber Syl2352) for the boil. I have it in manual mode and set to 100% duty cycle until it starts rolling, then manual reduce it to 55%. This provides a good simmer but the element still cycles on and...

    Electrical help needed/explained

I have attached a working diagram of my control box. Everything works. I have made 6 batches with it. I am just fine tuning things. I am trying to control my boil rate a little better. To have it simmer rather than a vigorous roll. I have adjusted the duty cycle on the PID to 55%, manually...

    2 pid, 1 ssr

    2 pid, 1 ssr

I have built my control box....and have found a small issue. I have a 30a system with 2 4500W elements (HERMS). Only 1 element will be on at any given. I have a PID (SYL2352) for each of the HLT and the BOIL. I have one SSR and now realize that I can not wire 2 PIDs to one SSR. I have no...

    Double Row Terminal Block

I am wiring my HERMES control box. I have a 4 wire cord coming into the box, split into 4 Terminal Blocks. I have nothing happening. I test continuity of all the terminal blocks and only one has it the other three only have it screw to screw. Basically the one that is working, the ground, is...

    GFCI Spa box question......need opinion

So having the 50a breaker is not a problem since my system is a 30A (from source)?

    GFCI Spa box question......need opinion

Asking question...not looking for attacks. The cost of safety is priceless...but here is a question. A 30A 240V GFCI Breaker is roughly $120. A 50amp spa box is $69 at Home Depot. If i were to run a 30A 2 pole breaker (Non-GFCI) in my Electrical panel, feeding a 10/3 line connected to a...
