yeah ssr failed. This is the second time. Think i had a bad connection at the element and the electricty arc'd to the metal box. Killing my SSR. Can you prevent these kinda things? Maybe with an inline fuse?

Only other 240v device I can find is an air conditioner. Would that work as a visual fan test?

Thanks, wasnt sure. I was trying to test because it seems like i lost ability to control voltage. Element seems to be on full blast and i cant slow down my boil. I tried switching out the pot i had an extra no change. Could my SSVR lose its ability to regulate voltage and be stuck on full...

Trying to test SSRV and potentiometer for volatage at element while underload. Multimeter reads 240v at the element, but that reading never changes when to pot is adjusted. Is this normal? Thought i'd get the volts to incease or decrease?

thanks for everyones help. It was a bad ssr. Contacted aubriens and wired to a light bulb per a diagram they supplied. Bulb didnt light. Sure did learn alot tho.

Im in the middle of the build. I attempted to heat water in the kettle and got nothing. My multimeter is a cheap pos. Think i need an ammeter as a guage. And just try again i guess cause im lost.

I attached a crude wiring diagram for how i wired the controller. It is the 25 amp ssvr with pot from Aubriens. I went the pure 240v route with a 30 amp dpst switch. The multimeter says i got 240v coming into the switch and leaving the switch. The red wire has voltage all the way to the...

I took an old heatsink off some old stereo equipment the metal fins measure 7"x4"x2" with a copper plate on top. Its good for one 25amp SSR. My question is can i mount 2 SSR's to the same heatsink? Or cut it in half for 2? Or just leave it alone?
