HELP! Centralize in Brussels or Ghent?

I just got back from Belgium 2 months ago. Went to most of the places noted above. We stayed in both Ghent and Brussels and took several day trips. Imo Ghent all the way. Brussels and Bruges are both much more touristy. Ghent had plenty of bars with fantastic selections open to the wee...

    Pumpkin Beer

I've made a couple pumpkin beers. Each time I roasted a couple cans of pumpkin in the boil and added spices at kegging. I never strained the pumpkin I just tossed it all in the fermenter and let it settle out over time. There are several recipes on this site with great threads. Sent from...

    Safale US-05

Crazy idea here. Rather than rehydrate the yeast with hot water, why not pitch the yeast say around 90 degrees and toss your beer someplace nice and cool like a basement. By the time the yeast really gets going the wort will be down to ambient temp of the basement. I've done this my last few...

Keg lid not sealing @ low psi...

Funny, I have the opposite problem with a couple my kegs. They won't hold high pressure. They always leak to ~4 psi. Dispute my best lube efforts, same result. Frustrating.

    Summit Slam Imperial IPA

If you poke around enough on this site, you'll find dry hopping times are very subjective. Some put hops in their kegs to continually dry hop their beer throughout its existence. Personally, I've dry hopped with summit for 2 weeks with no adverse effects. Some people report grassy or other...

Slow Yeast Too Dry Hopping too long

I've dry hopped several beers in the keg, leaving the hops in until it was kicked. (Over a couple months). I never got any off, grassy or cat per flavors.

    Controlling Fruit Fly Problem

Another unorthodox method I heard the other day to eliminate fruit flies was to put out a small cup of Mad Dog 20/20. The flies love the fruit smell and can't handle their liquor so they drown. Cruel yet "supposedly" effective, I told myself I would give this $3 fix a try should I ever...

    Beyond extract kits

I would recommend deciding on a type of beer and then picking one of the various recipes available on this site. If its all grain, figure out your own conversion. Dont be afraid to try an experimental 1/2 batch. Maybe think ahead to an event or holiday for a brew theme. For example, the...

    Total Domination-ish IPA

IMO you need to dry hop to take IPAs to the next level. I've used summit to dry hop and was very happy with the result.

    Warm kegs

I've been traveling for work the past few weeks, upon returning home tonight I was going to get a beer when I noticed my kreezer did not seem to be working. It's like 65 degrees on there and could have been that way for a while. thoughts on how that might affect my brew? keezer repairs are...

    Summit rhizomes

I was lucky enough to get one early from wvh. Planted in a pot a week and a half ago. She's nearly 20" now. I live in zone 5 so I'm waiting a bit before getting her planted in the yard.
