Basically any fermentable sugar will work. I use table sugar myself. I raise bees and hundreds of pounds of sugar laying around.

Port Townsend Brewing Company is well worth the ferry ride. I don't think that I have had a bad beer there.

Sound Brewing Systems, Inc In my area we have three successful brewpubs running on 3 to 7 barrel systems. There is a big difference between wholesale and retail. Making 15 barrels at a time would actually drive them out of business. How easy do you think it would be for an unknown brewery...

.Let me get this straight. You are looking at a BS or masters to get a job that starting pay is about the same as McDonalds. Looking at the pro forum! Most of those guys seem to think 30 K and no real benefits is a good pay for an experienced brewer. I like brewing beer but my lawn guy...

Anyone use bayou classic steam basket when brewing BIAB?

I don't have a bayou classic brew kettle but another brand. I put my bags in my steam basket. I have had no problems with it whatsoever. I am happy with the results I get and don't plan on changing. Also using the steam basket makes it easy to recover the wart in the grain. I just set the...

Yeast swap for Arrogant Bastard Ale Clone

From what I see people are using WLP007 for Arrogant Bastard Ale Clone. While I like Arrogant Bastard I am not normally fond of dry beers. So I was thinking about swapping out WL001. Would people who know more about yeast than I do chime in with their thoughts.

Grain mill. who has the best bang for the buck.

No a lot less than that. But that is really beside the point. I am trying to find out what people think is the best over all value not a $25 or a $300 one either. Something that is going to get the job done right last and is still affordable. The barley crusher and the crankandstien 2...

Grain mill. who has the best bang for the buck.

I didn't buy it from him. I bought it from someone else for half what he charges. It wouldn't be right to ask him. Besides I am going to keep buying it this way so I need a mill.

Grain mill. who has the best bang for the buck.

If the cereal crusher had the same warranty as the Barley crusher then it would be a no brainier. Personalty I am leaning towards the Barley crusher because of the warranty and that it comes ready to use. The Crankandstein mill looks nice but you need to order parts separately. Their basic one...

Grain mill. who has the best bang for the buck.

I got a good deal and bought a couple bags of two row. Of course I can't use them because I don't have a mill. Like a lot of people money is tight. But I don't want the cheapest I want the one that is the best over all value. I don't live that far from grizzly and could buy a corona for $25...
