How do you prime your pump?

How do I prime my pump? I whisper into my wife's ear and she takes over from there. :D Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm glad there were so many helpful folks on here to actually help you. Cheers!

Can my lager warm up without hurting it?

If they are just floating around the top, you could try to siphon out the beer from below them and leave them behind. If they are all over the place, well I'm not sure. You could cold crash, siphon to another carboy if you have one and dry hop again. That is if you are worried about the...

    repurposed food dehydrator lid/temp control

My weather forecast includes a high of -8deg F for tomorrow, and that doesn't bode well for lagering my doppelbock. It would certainly freeze in my unheated garage. So I came up with this: My food dehydrator lid has both a fan and heating element. I plugged it into my homemade temp...

    Turkey Fryer kit

Good point GrogNerd has about measuring boiloff, its also a good time to make a measuring stick too!

    Turkey Fryer kit

Yes, there is one thing. Fill the pot as full as you can get it with plain old water and bring it to a boil. Let it cool and dump it, or use the water for laundry or something. This step will create a protective oxide layer on the aluminum rendering it nearly if not completely inert. Then, when...

    Anyone miss brewing outside?

I brew almost exclusively in my garage year round. The only thing I don't like about it is when I forget to bring the garden hose inside to thaw before brewing starts. Trying to chill wort with an icy hose is no fun.

How many batches do you brew in a month?

I brew one less than I need to, no matter how many I brew. :drunk:

Another I Love Lucy fridge conversion

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/new-diy-kegerator-421663/ This is the link for the thread I started on my fridge. It now has 3 taps, I really like how you have the inner panel of your door cupped out to allow freezer clearance. It's kinda on hold until warmer weather, I'm not lugging that tank...

    Weihenstephaner Korbinian recipe anyone?

That's Wyeast 2124, built up a pretty big starter to wake it up. Then as my wort was dropping temp overnight(after the chiller did all it could do) I spared a litre of wort to step up the starter. I pitched the next morning when my wort was down to 44degF, and the starter was at high krausen...

    Weihenstephaner Korbinian recipe anyone?

I can dig up the recipe if you don't have that magazine. I think it may be floating around hbt somewhere as well.

    Weihenstephaner Korbinian recipe anyone?

This is the Celebrator. The recipe I used was published in BYO clone brews magazine. I agree with bottle treatment/age of imports. The 2 Korbinians I tried both tasted oxidized to me.

    Weihenstephaner Korbinian recipe anyone?

After much consideration, and trying a Celebrator and Korbinian side by side I opted to brew a Celebrator clone. I found the Korbinian to not be as tasty as I had remembered, and I've always been a sucker for Celebrator.

    Brewing with Kids?

My son, now 2 1/2 has been helping me since he could walk. Of course it slows down brewdays but I'm perfectly fine with that. I generally time my process so that he is napping right about the end of the boil when I know I'll be busy chilling wort, transferring and the like. He also loves...

    Illinois **Free** Equipment/Materials

Yep, I understood its just the stand. I actually grew up in Morris, I know where Crest Hill is. I would love to take that off your hands, however I'm not sure when I would be able to arrange a way to pick it up. I don't have a truck either, so I'd have to borrow one. If someone else comes along...
