Yes. Right. I would not need a pump at all except that I need a way to recirculate the mash through a HERMS coil in my HLT up top. The other reason for a single tier it that it saves floor apace in my garage.

Mine are nothing fancy at all. The March pump plugs into a switched port in the controller and that allows me flip the pump on or off.

No secrets from me, but I don't have a good wiring diagram... just some chicken scratch on a piece of paper.
