BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

I flashed a D1 Mini pro with the ModeMCU flasher (16m flash size) and BrewPiLess.v4.1r4.d1pro.newui.16m14m.bin. It appears to have flashed OK and the LED on the board flashes about every 2 seconds but the brewpiless network never shows up on my wifi. Idea why?

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Duh My mistake, I've got the wrong thread. Thanks for the info.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I'm in the process of building a BrewPiLess using a D1 Mini Pro and was thinking of installing Fermentrack but all the install instruction I can find have you flashing it from a Rpi which I don't have. Is there a way to flash it directly?

How do I be a bad neighbor, without actually being a bad neighbor??

Just make sure the beer is organic, you composted the grains and used pure water from your own spring in the backyard.

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

I know the Foundry hasn't been out for that long but has anyone had any problems with it? I really like the idea of these but the one thing that bothers me is if something breaks it's scrap unless you can get parts. Since they're made in China I doubt there are any available. At least if...

    Kveik & Nutrients

Where are you getting dried kveik? The only place I've been able to find has been promising to have it for home brewers for about a year.

    Star san lifespan

I've had a plastic milk jug of Star San develop a leak after a year or so and know of two other people that this has happened to.

    MASH Inside, boil outside?

I did that at our previous house for years. Wisconsin winters were too cold to mash outdoors. I made an electric HLT so I could safely mash in the basement. I'd carry the wort out to boil in two batches to make it easier.

Starter with Imperial Harvest lager yeast - Over pitched?

BeerSmith calculated the cell count at 464 billion and the OG was 1.052 so I guess underpitching probably isn't the problem. The water profile (first time I've tried adjusting this too) Ca 118 Mg 17 Sodium 11.5 Sulfate 184 Chloride 140 Bicarb 0 It's been lagering at about 34º for two weeks now...

Starter with Imperial Harvest lager yeast - Over pitched?

Brewed a German Pils my first lager. I know Imperial yeasts are supposed have enough cells to direct pitch but I figured this being a lager I'd make a 2 liter starter. It was on the stir plate about 24 hours and then cold crashed overnight, decanted and pitched with the wort at 57º. Fermentation...

    Hydrogen for presurizing kegerator?

Gives a whole new meaning to "bottle bombs".

    Cleaning / drying equipment

+1 but if you have camlock fittings on the hoses make sure ALL of them have hose clamps on them. Almost took out a windshield because I didn't.

    Review my sanitation ritual?

Anything that makes it through your regime deserves to live. ;) +1 on everything mentioned above especially the Vinator. Saves a lot of time and sanitizer. If you want to make sure your bottles are squeaky clean a bottle brush with the little loop on the handle cut off in a cordless drill and...

    Kegging questions

+1 on the Bev-seal ultra. Just make sure you get the quick disconnect fittings to go with it. Getting the tubing on to regular barbed fittings is a *****. It's not the easiest stuff to work with as it's stiffer than standard line but definitely worth it. You'll need a few more feet than regular...

Not bagging any hops during boil or dry, and not cold crashing

Until recently (I got one of those SS mesh hop baskets, jury's still out on it) I've always just tossed the hops into the kettle and fermenter. I do use gelatin but that's more to remove haze causing proteins than hops. Even before I had a way to cold crash the hops settled out with time. You...

recirculated wort return - manifold vs nozzle

Do you go around poking wasps nest too? ;) You'll probably going to get as many answers as there are people on here. I've tried both ways sprinkling gently and running it in with just a hose with no noticeable difference in efficiency. IMHO if you keep about an inch of water above the grain bed...

    Process changes for better beer?

I have a 1 gallon water jug that I mix up Starsan in and it lasts for several brews. Some goes in a spray bottle and the stuff that gets used to sanitize the fermenter and smaller things gets returned for reuse. 10+ years of brewing and I'm half way through my second bottle of Starsan.
