    emptying a carbed keg

    Pour it from the tap into bottles, set them aside for a few months to see if they improve. Empty keg and "saved " beer.

    What about replacing a tap with a threaded one and replace the original when you move? Landlord wouldn't even know. And you have a tap to take with you.

    I've never used ball locks. I have no trouble with the Sankes. I can have the valve in or out in seconds. Maybe a minute if I stop for a drink!

    Congratulations! I would rather give up brewing than drinking. That being said, my little girl is a year and a half old and I did give up drinking for the ninth month of the pregnancy. That was a long four weeks. And she came three days late!! I'm not sure how I ever survived...

    What's the proper way to force carbonate?

    I chill my carboy for a day or so, keg. Lay a towel on the ground, set PSI to 30, roll with my foot for 400 seconds. Cut CO2. Leave for a couple hours, bleed excess pressure, set gauge to 12 PSI and serve. It gets it about 80-90% of the way there, it'll finish in a day or so. Works for me.

    Keg conditioning

    Is there a difference between kegging, force or burst carbing, leaving for a month before drinking and just leaving it in the carboy for an extra month before carbing?

    helibrewer - That's what it John Palmer said it would be. I did SmaSH the same day no problem with it. He also said it could be to many hops. RM-MN - Finished as in the FG stayed in place. It went into a keg. I can ferment cooler, the garage is about 15 degrees cooler. I've got a batch in there...

    15 gallon kegs for homebrewing???

    Videos on you tube how to open them. I watched a video or two and have it done to a screw driver and a pair of pliers to open and close them. Only takes only a minute or so.
