    reducing final 5 gallons on a kit beer

    Does reducing a 5 gallon kit to 4.5 final gallons still produce a good beer. I just made a chinook IPA thought i topped it off to 5 gallons but it really is at 4.5 after the foam has settled. im not going to add any more water. Im sure it still will be bad ass. am i right?

    Bottling question

    Ok im all ready to bottle. I picked up the secondary and put on table to rack and all the crap on top is all shook up. Should I let is settle befor racking to bottling bucket?

    How much washed yeast for a starter?

    I washed my yeast from my first beer I made and filled up an old liquid vial full of yeast. I'm just wondering how much of this I should use to make a starter?

    I had my ale in my primary bucket for the past week at a constant temp of 63-64 and all of a sudden on the 7th day the temp jumped up to 68-69.     Im trying to find simcoe hops and have checked everywhere. Should I just replace them with warrior? or does someone know a place that has them?

    Soap in primary

    I sprayed soapy water around the airlock to see it it was airtight. Finding out is was not I removed it really quick to adjust it and some of the soapy water dripped in the primary (1 or 2 drops) haha. Think its going to effect anything?
