    CO2 Leak

Billy where did you get the orange silicone version?

I should have used a blowoff tube...

I go with foil and spray it down with starsan first, because I'm paranoid like that. And if you don't have a stir-plate you should get/make one. In the DIY section there are a few make-it-yourself designs. Made mine with a spare cigar case and all up it was under 20 bucks. You possibly already...

Turning down the propane burner after hotbreak?

I do that too, bring it down low enough to keep a boil but not boil over. It's trained me to be a better cook too, I haven't had any pasta boil over aftering mastering the technique :p

    Beer experiment

Forget bleach it's more trouble than it's worth. Use Star-San....it's dirt cheap considering how much of it you get...and you can use it for a cleaner in the bathroom and kitchen even if you never brew again. With bleach you have to rinse it afterwards, and unless you're doing that with sterile...

I love that beer, certainly one of my top five. Would you mind sharing the recipe you used?

    Chi Company

Well my order finally arrived, a few days shy of a month after it was initially ordered. The little poppet thingy in the one of the pinlock posts is loose and falls out, nothing holding it or the spring in place. After the three emails and a PM that went unanswered, and a phone that is never...

I don't blame you if it got lost during shipment, that is out of your control. But what you do have control over is your communication. And after having ignored two of my emails and not be available by phone (and with mailbox full so not able to leave message) I was really hoping you would...

New Product! Cool Brewing Fermentation Cooler

Noticed in your tests the outside temp is actually quite low. You able to run similar tests with a higher temp...where this product is intended to help? Say..with a temp outside the bag of 80 to 90 degress? Would be nice to know how effective it is under varying conditions, especially since...

    Chi Company

Please refer to this thread where your customers are requesting help: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f173/chi-company-284570/index7.html Been nearly two weeks since I received a confirmation email that my item had shipped. The USPS still does not list as delivered, in fact it doesn't even...

Touchy-feely? Not requesting a date. Some customer service would be nice. The product that supposedly shipped nearly two weeks ago would be even better. TY SwampassJ for suggestion, I will try that.

Horrible experience thus far for me. Received an email telling me that my order was being shipped on Feb 10th...still not here. Tried to email them twice with no response, going on day five with no response actually. Tried to call Matt's number and no answer...and the mailbox is full. Not...

    Cheap DIY Fermentor

I work with a guy who pretty much does the same thing. In fact he doesn't even have a single brewing pot. He gets the five biggest pots in his kitchen and uses them all to boil separate little batches then mixes them together into his fermentation bucket. And it drives his wife nuts too.

    Cheap DIY Fermentor

Sounds like you didn't shop around very well. Mine was 130 bucks, came with a 7.5 gallon SS kettle, stainless 10 inch stem therm that clips onto the kettle, the lid, imm chiller, two fermentation buckets with the spigots, airlocks, hydrometer, newbie brewing book, tubing, capper, caps and...

    Cheap DIY Fermentor

I'd just save up and buy a starter kit. They come with a lot of handy tools like a bottle capper, fermentation bucket (that you can later use for bottling bucket even if you upgrade), so on and so forth. Really cheaper to buy the starter kits then get everything one at a time. But if going...

    Home Bar Keezer Question

I would do one of two things. Either put it on casters so you can wheel it out (leaving the top flush with countertop but obviously not one with countertop....or, have the keezer itself be able to slide out like a drawer. There was a guy on here that did that, but I am unable to locate the...

Two Beers, One Yeast, Two Different Fermentations

My current starter doesn't have a krausen ring like the others did in the past. This is my fourth generation with this yeast strain. Saw some bubbles one day then the next nothing. Is it possible I've worn the little guys out with back to back brews? Do I need to stick it in the fridge in...

Shouldn't you avoid drinking the yeast?

Nice, now we just need to market it as a diet suppliment! One yeast pill per candy bar to cut down on the calories. It works a lot like E.coli does, taking care of the excess proteins you eat and turning it into carbon dioxide. Although yeast not as common to cause you as much gas.
