Okay, message received I guess. Time to move on.

Well it is a useless thread and I actually find it pretty annoying myself. So whatever, but I am starting to wonder what else I have posted is being censored deleted rearranged... I love this place and it is the only forum I contribute to. I would like to think I have something to offer...

At last the search for bigfoot is a success!

10th of February 2009 He has eluded me for months now. It is the season when bigfoot is known to briefly come out of hiding. Still, spotting him has proven nearly impossible. I nearly had him last Thursday. A tip led me to a location not far from my outpost but somehow he must have known...

Does anyone else detect diacetyl in Sam Adams beers?

I believe I am highly sensitive to diacetyl or I am confusing it with another flavor... I do not drink Sam Adams that often. Only because I do not purchase that much commercial beer overall and when I do I try to sample new things. I think Sam Adams is solid beer overall. I recently tried...

Can anyone point me to or offer more information on the Scottish "Tall Font"

Was reading this great book: And it mentions that traditionally Scottish ales are served with a "tall font" which is distinctive from English hand pumped beer engines. Unfortunately it offers not too much info and no photos. The basics are it uses air pressure pushed directly into the...

Long hard weekend ths far. Good to kick back with a brew.

Regained respect for Long Trail brewery VT.!

So I recently decried the decline of Vermont breweries but ended with the resolution to let them regain my respect. Well, Long Trail has joined the ranks of renewed respect! Tried their Coffee Stout, Brewmasters series. Very Nice! It is imperial stout strength and the coffee is evident and...

Any ideas on repairing an aquarium heater?

I have 2 aquarium heaters I use to maintain fermentation temps. Sadly I broke one last winter. It should still work, the only thing wrong with it is that I broke the glass tubing. I think if I can just get something to replace it it will be working again. Only problem is I am not sure what I...

YES! only $400 for one case of OLD AB beer!

You too can be the proud owner of a failed Anheiser Busch Marzen attempt from at least 15 years ago! For the low price of $400 you get a whole case of questionable quality beer that is well past it's sell by date for a lower gravity beer! Or only $100 a 6 pack! hook me up...

I am going to try making a mead again. Advice guidance sought so I get it "right"

I have not had the best luck with mead. I do not want to rehash my past attempts and try and diagnose in this thread. I just want a clean start over. So, I will post my plan and I ask for all you experienced mead makers to give your input. I promise I will take your advice! :rolleyes...

Aw sweet! Scotch thistle glasses... no wait, maybe not.

I was at the beer glassware store yesterday (Thrift store) when I saw 2 glasses that looked distinctly like thistle shaped glasses for Scotch strong ale. Only they were quite large. Well, .50 each I got em anyway plus another nice tulip to add to my collection. So I have tried to search and...

    rumors of BIGFOOT...

So now that Vermont has changed their laws and barley wines (and other big brews) are allowed outside of state run liquor stores, I have been in search of the legendary BIGFOOT. He has remained elusive. I have hounded the local package stores for months. Finally, I went to the source. I...

My heather metheglin smells/tastes like... Waxed lips?

Anybody remember wax lips/teeth, you know the food grade wax novelty in the shape of lips or vampire teeth etc.? Do they make them anymore? Very distinctive aroma flavor. I just tried my heather metheglin and it had a certain aroma. Sort of yeasty I thought at first. Reminded me of the...

That'll set me right! Nice big helping of greasy fried polenta with a greasy WELL done leathery fried egg smothered in pasta sauce with some habenero sauce for good measure! And Java of course! That hit the spot! Could go for some more actually... It ain't just the beer alone that...

How do you easily upload recipes to the HBT database?

I run Beer Alchemy on my mac. I cannot seem to figure an easy way to post my recipes into the HBT database. I see other folks some how get a graphical printout (from other software) in the body of the posting. Maybe it is not possible with this software? Anyone else using Beer Alchemy...
