    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Brewing this one today. This recipe sounds like a great river or pool beer for the summer. Can't wait to try it. The Motueka hops weren't available at the LHBS so I ordered from Northern Brewer they stock if you can't find them.

    Mint Extract Experience

I got one in the secondary. I used a Spearmint Extract from Lorann Oils. Brewed a Chocolate Stout then added the extract to the secondary after a week. I was also looking for that thin mint taste. Hopfully in a few weeks I'll find out.

Blow Off Tube Vs. Foam Control/Airlock

My last 2 batches I stated to use oxygen instead of shaking. Seems to me I get a lot more foam/ krausen coming out of the airlock. The last one was so bad I finally added a blow off tube to the airlock. Is it better to just continue using a airlock but add a foam control like Fermcap or just...

    Using PBW to clean bottles

I use PBW on my cleaning and it works great. Just soak the bottles for 20-30 minutes in warm water and the labels just fall off. I hit them with a bottle brush and rinse. I then soak them in Star San for 2-5 minutes and on to the bottle tree. If the bottles sit for a long time I just rinse them...

Hello out there I'm form Yucaipa California (SoCal). Just started brewing in January when my Dad who makes his own wine bought me the start up equipment to start brewing beer for Christmas. Saturday I brewed my 13th batch which will be a Watermelon Wheat - Can't wait. I was doing a search for...
