    What are you drinking now?

My Oktoberfest, but I decided to try the Danstar saison yeast instead of the typical lager yeast. I probably won't be doing that again, if you're wondering how it turned out.

    Irish Car Bomb: Your Thoughts?

Yum! This is my favorite boilermaker-style concoction.

BIAB Basket sits too high... how to retain heat?

Just throwing this out there, my bag and grains just drape over the element. I use a 5500W ULWD element, a PID w/auto-tune and full time recirc. I've never scorched grain or messed up my bag.

How to clear lines with a non self priming pump.

All I do is run everything downhill, and adjust my recipes for the half gallon of wort I leave behind.

    Tasting Room Coffin Keezer

Love the idea of using chrome exhaust tips, I'm totally stealing that idea! How are you going to get into the keezer for keg changes and cleanup? That's about the only bit of logistics keeping me from putting mine in a coffin at this point.

    hiccups?

I recently noticed that Sierra Nevada Pale Ale gave me the hiccups (not like that'll stop me from drinking it). Pickle juice gets rid of hiccups for me post haste.

    Favorite lyric from a song.

Them that don't know him won't like him and them that do, Sometimes won't know how to take him. He ain't wrong, he's just different but his pride won't let him, Do things to make you think he's right. -Waylon & Willie

    Smartphone brewing

Beersmith is under $30, and I absolutely love it. They also have a free trial you can download to try. That would rock!

Mounting drip tray on front of chest freezer

I put mine on using strips of 2-sided foam tape. Sturdy, with no chance of poking lines, but it's permanent. I noticed a commercial for 3M's Command product line, and am going to pull my tray off this weekend and give those a shot.

Dry hopped in a corny and force carbonated! Newbie question!

I've dry hopped with pellets in a keg once before, and hated myself for doing it. I wound up taking the beer tube out 7 or 8 times to unplug it. you may wanna wait the week you would normally dry hop and rack it into another keg. Side note: I have dry hopped in a keg with leafs (just tossed...

    Remember this?

How about these? Out of this world. These were the only cigarettes I could pick up in high school, because the guy at the head shop that sold them never carded me. Loved this show Who remembers this poem?: M R DUCKS M R NOT DUCKS O S A R DUCKS! C M WINGS? L I B! M R...

What do you suggest for first time all grain batch or partial brew?

While I agree that all grain is the way to go, I have made many fine beers with Brewer's Best kits, or building am extract recipe from the recipe section here. I'd say that the next logical step for you may be getting yourself a 1/2 barrel keg, cutting a hole in the top, and using it for...

    My Official E-BiaB Build Thread

We were going to do this, until I did a bit of pricing and discovered that I could purchase and install a spa panel for the cost of a gfci breaker alone, along with making a 20ft 240v drop cord. Looks like logic (read P-J) wins out.

    My Official E-BiaB Build Thread

I'm getting the parts rounded up to build this, and a question came up. Since I'm brewing 20 ft from my dryer plugin (40a breaker) would I be able to get away without setting up a spa disconnect and just plug into the dryer outlet?

    Kegging Homebrew question

Considering that after I keg a beer I hook it up to CO2, sit it on my lap, and shake for 10-15 minutes, I'd say a car ride won't hurt your beer at all. :D

    Auto Mechanics Here? Help?

I've seen plenty of times that a shop will eat the labor because they couldn't fix your problem (not your fault, after all), but they will still charge you the diag fee. That's usually under $100. When the tech "reset" the computer (ie. unplugged the battery for 30 seconds) what he did was...

    Auto Mechanics Here? Help?

I doubt you'd have to go any lower than the head, as long as the piston is in good shape. If your low compression is due to piston rings, you'll most likely see some blue smoke. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say you have a problem in the head (broken/worn valve, or sticking valve or...
