    Time to bottle my pilsner........

I have been lagering my pilsner for the last 8 weeks @ about 2 degrees celcius. I'm going to be using the Coopers sugar drops to carb the beer, but I've heard that I need to drop some dry yeast into the fermenter beforehand because apparently I killed off all the yeast when I dropped the temp...

    First yeast starter, first pilsner.

O.k, A few questions....... 1. Today I'm brewing a pilsner, OG 1058. On Thursday night I made a starter (3.5 litres according to mr malty). It started fermenting pretty quickly. I gave it a couple of shakes and went to bed. Woke up put it in the fridge and went to work. I took it out of...

    High mash temp.

My mash temp ended up way too high. The recipe called for 68C but the temperature was more like 78C. My OG was supposed to be 1.044, but I ended up 1.060. I imagine there is a lot of non fermentable sugars in there. What can I expect from this beer? Will it be o.k.?

    Cara/Crystal 10L substitute

First all grain! Lots of questions.

OK...... After successfully brewing a number of kits, I decided to try my hand at AG brewing. I had know real idea of what to brew so I purchased a Brewferm German bock kit. 20 litre batch. So, I crushed the grain, heated the mash water (18 litres), added the grain and waited. I then poured...

    2nd brew problem.

I'm a total novice when it comes to home brewing so please bare with me. I tried home brewing for the first time last month. Everything went according to plan and the beer is bottled. This time however, about 6 hours after I pitched the yeast, the foam from the wort blew the water out of the...
