    i just tried a new technique on a phat tyre amber ale. i used a 5 gallon carboy to primary ferment in. i used a large blow off tube, but the fit was not real tight so i "duck taped the tube in place"??? i know it sounds funny but it seemed to work well. within 12 hrs fermentation started...

    aerating a 5 gallon wort

    the question of the hour is do you or should you aerate a 5 gallon wort. do you get enough o2 in the wort by pouring the wort in the fermenter fast, then shake? thinking about going to 5 gallon boils but if i have to buy a bunch of extra equiptment i may hold off for awhile. thanks for the input.

    is it worth the extra money for a 9 gallon pot in order to do a 5 gallon boil? i am looking a buying a new pot. i looked at brew4less.com, you can get that pot for 99.00. anyone have any experience with this pot? it seems like a good deal. let me know, thanks.

    i have a question concerning the use of iodophor? after you sanitize your equiptment in the solution do you have to dry the pieces before using? thanks for the help...i know i could read bottle but i am lazy right now and would really like an answer soon. thanks.
