    Scuba tank for co2

After looking into it more, that is correct. Although it may be possible to source a 3/4 NPS CO2 valve to replace the SCUBA valve with. Matt

    Valve for co2 tank?

Most SCUBA cylinders use a 3/4 NPS threaded valve, So finding a CO2 valve with matching threads should work out just fine. This one may work: CO2 Valve for 1/4" Neck Steel Cylinder. Alternatively, you could always pick-up a used SCUBA valve from a dive shop or online and sell it off. If the...

    Scuba tank for co2

If you are bent on using it, it shouldn't be very difficult to source out the correct valve to replace the current valve if it's a yoke valve. If it's a DIN valve it might be even easier. From what I know it is fairly common for paintballers to convert SCUBA cylinders so that they can fill...

    Is this tank usable?

As already mentioned, it's a medical oxygen tank and regulator. The good news is that it can be refilled with O2 and used for aerating wort. Good luck on getting it filled with CO2. If you just want to sell it off, I would try dumping it on a tech diving or aviation forum. Matt

    keg connection

Lots of people here, myself included have ordered from them. I ordered a 4 tap setup with a perlick faucet upgrade. Great guys to deal with overall, the only complaint I've seen on the boards is that they can sometimes be hard to get on the phone, understandable as I believe they are all...

Scuba tanks as oxygen source for wort

You could just go all "oxyhacker" on it. Empty the tank, clean it with hot water and simple green. Hang it upside down to dry, or blast it dry with air from another tank. Replace the neck O-ring (does not have to be "O2 compatible"), reinsert the valve and attach a sticker that says it has...

    Split my Pyrex Flask

They usually are fairly tough, but a small chip or hairline crack could have done it in. Also, is the butane burner a single flame or does it have multiple jets? If it's just a single flame in a small area that could have caused the glass to expand at a much faster pace than the rest of the...

    Math problems

Yeah, that's what I thought, and that's the response I got from them as well. My only problem with that is that price is not unreasonably high for Hawaii. My last trip to the homebrew shop, hops were $5 for 2 ounces, with a limit of 4 ounces total. Seems to me that they should just remove the...

    Math problems

While wasting time at work I noticed a slight ambiguity in the hop prices over at homebrewing.org, I've never ordered anything from them, and don't have anything bad to say about them at all. Except, that I noticed they are selling all leaf hops at $2.25 an ounce, or a full pound for $49.99...

    Keezer and CO2 logistics

6 kegs and room on the hump for lagering/storage sounds just fine to me. I'm thinking that I'd probably just start with a 4 keg setup from kegconnection (seems to be a favorite here) and upgrade the CO2 bottle right away, keep the 5# bottle around for emergencies, and upgrade to perlick faucets...

    Keezer and CO2 logistics

Yep, I'm planning on either a 20# tank, or I may just get a lease on a larger tank along the lines of my O2 and He cylinders I currently use for mixing my trimix gases. Matt

    Keezer and CO2 logistics

Just adding secondary regulators sounds like a good idea. I figured freezer dimensions varied by manufacturer, but the magic chef model sounds like it may be the best option and it's certainly in our price range. Thanks, Matt

    Keezer and CO2 logistics

My wife and I will be moving back to the mainland soon and as part of the move I've been given permission to bless our household with a keezer, in addition to resurrecting my reef and discus aquariums :). Ideally, I'd like to have 4 beer taps, 1 soda tap, and room for at least one more keg...

My lager fridge / kegerator has died.

Long-time lurker here... As long as the insulation is intact you could always just keep a few bags of ice in the freezer. Sort of like a mcGyver/super-sized "son of fermentation" chiller. All is not lost. Matt
