    Need a refresher on extract boil

    1 does boiling the extract (extra light dme) from the start of the boil darken the beer that much? 2 using steeping grains does the hop utilization change that much if you add the extract in the last 15 minutes? 3 what if no steeping grains are used? thanks

    Would there be problems cutting 5 gal batches

    Hello new to the all grain and was wondering if there would be a problem cutting the 5 gallon recipes down to 2.5 gallons or even 2 gallons. The reason would be to try multiple recipes wo waisting so much if the batch didnt turn out so hot.
