    Mash Hopping?

I've been brewing the Cream of Three Crops recipe found here https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f62/cream-three-crops-cream-ale-66503/ for a while now as my goto summer ale and experiment base. I think I will add something like 3 oz of a "C" hop in the mash and not have any other hops additions to see...

    Fantasy Football 2014 #1

Sorry I missed the draft and first week of the season. I totally forgot about the league. I am ready to go now. My team is not nearly as bad as I had feared it would be.

    Red Ale question

A friend gave me the idea of adding dried hibiscus in the dry hop phase to turn it red. It will be an IPA so this may solve my problem unless someone can come up with a better grain solution.

    Red Ale question

Yeah, it's one barley, one wheat, one oat, etc. At first I was thinking of using midnight wheat, but I'm not sure if I'll get red, or more amber, out of it.

    Red Ale question

I am trying to make a red ale with 6 different grains and no more than one of any particular type. Does anyone have an idea of how to get it red with only using 6-row as my barley grain? I'm not sure what combination of malts will get me the red color I need.

    Fantasy Football 2014 #1

I'm in. Can't wait for this. I've been trying to get my local homebrew club to do a fantasy league but not enough people are interested.

    All LME brew

I thought I would get that as well. I don't know if the hops or the sweetness covered it up, but I didn't get a metallic taste at all. If I tried it again and used Notty or US-05 it may end up with the metallic taste, since they would dry it out to the appropriate level.

    All LME brew

I actually only did a 20 min boil for just that reason. I would definitely recommend using steeping grains as well, but this was an experiment to see if I could make a beer from setup to cleanup in less than 90 minutes. In that respect, it worked. Though it wasn't the best product I've...

    All LME brew

In case anyone was wondering, the beer turned out drinkable. It was a little sweet for my taste. It got stuck at 1.022. My friends liked it and drank it all that night, so I say it was a success, though I'm not sure I want to repeat this one. At least I know I can get something decent enough for...

    Kingbee brand Malt Extracts

I would never use that DME either. I wouldn't trust that company to ensure the necessary quality control and standards that I am comfortable with. I would stick to Munton's or Briess myself. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Home Brew mobile app

    All LME brew

Good to know for next time I try this. Switched out the blowoff tube yesterday. Will hopefully throw it in the keg this weekend.

    Grain mill question

I have a Rebel Mill from Rebel Brewer and it is a tank.

Good quality and Cheap Extract kits

Rebel Brewer has great kits available. I will be trying their Mosaic Pale Ale kit next. They are my goto for all things brewing.

    All LME brew

I'll be kegging this one so hopefully it will be decent enough by then.

    All LME brew

Has anyone attempted this? I'm asking cause I just made one last night and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I usually do all-grain BIAB but I was pressed for time and just needed to pump out a brew in time for New Year's Eve. I'll be interested to see how many others have tried this and if...

    Smoked Porter Attempt #2 (Gluten-Free)

I have used tea in a couple batches of beer and I would recommend a long steep, 12-24 hrs, in room temperature water as opposed to subjecting the tea to heat. Less chance of tannins that way. Your recipe sounds intriguing though.
