Activated wyeast last week, still good?

That's good to know, all three of those (high gravity, lager, and 10gal batches) are in the plan for the near future.

Activated wyeast last week, still good?

Thanks for all of the info! I'll bookmark those sites for reference. It has been refrigerated since the day it was activated. I actually have yet to make a starter since I have been brewing. So I guess I'm a bit confused about this yeast requiring a starter, and not being adequate for 5 gallon...

Activated wyeast last week, still good?

I activated a Wyeast 1056 Direct Pitch Activator pack last Saturday, but ended up postponing that brewing until tomorrow. Is there a timeframe when these should can be used? The directions say "Allow the package to incubate and swell for 3 hours or more". Is 168 hours too much? :)

Brewed this one over the weekend. I believe the OG on our batch ended up being 1.034. Looking forward to trying it out!

    Help identifying keg type?

Thanks for the info. My neighbor saw/heard me working on these kegs, and ended up coming over with a very large wrench. Locked it on the top, and got it to turn with ease!

No luck first time. Torches it for a minute or so. But can't get a good grip on the top... Any more tips?

Now to take a torch to the collar.... this should be the fun part!

    Help identifying keg type?

Alright, making some progress... used a screw driver to tear apart one section of the rubber ring, then used needle nose pliers to remove the rest of the rubber ring. To get the spring out I ended up using the prying end of a hammer, and with the keg on its side, just started working at it...

    Help identifying keg type?

Hmm, I found this on disassembling a euro keg... that might be what I'm looking for (if this is a euro style keg.) http://www.beer-recipe.org/EuroSanke.html

    Help identifying keg type?

Anyone know what kind of keg this is? From reading around it appears to be a European style keg, but I'm not 100% sure. Also, looking for help on how to depressurize it. Thanks!

    ebay aquarium temp controller build

I like the ideas of a removable probe, might have to modify mine to have that!

    ebay aquarium temp controller build

Thanks! It was a fun little project. I've done a bit of electrical stuff before, so it went pretty smooth. Got the temp set around 40F and moved the keg in to its new home. Finally freed up my kitchen fridge! This will get me by while I plan the full freezer to keezer project :)

    co2 regulator + secondary/manifold advice?

Thanks for all the input, good ideas here! I was planning on putting a single body regulator off each line coming from the distribution bar, that would work right?

    co2 regulator + secondary/manifold advice?

Thanks for the replies. With what you two have said, I think this will be the direction I'll take. It will prob be a bit more expensive in the end, but would give me more room for control and future additions. Dual body regulator...

    co2 regulator + secondary/manifold advice?

Hey, looking for some advice on a co2 regulator and manifold setup. My current regulator hit the dust. I'm also in the process of building a keezer, so I figured now would be a good time to get the right pieces for that project. I'm going for a 4 keg setup. Thinking it would be nice to...

Modifying stainless table for brew rig?

I've been throwing ideas around, thinking about how I want to create a brewing stand. One thought would be to find a stainless steel table/cart to hold some burners. I've attached an image of one from a local ad that looks promising. It's 55.5" x 29" with a 10" backsplash that has holes for an...
