Is it possible to make a cider that does not taste like wine. I just finished up a cider and it is more of a wine then a cider. I really like cider but am not a wine drinker. does anyone have a good recipe that wont end up tasting like wine?

with the right yeast you can get it up to 20% ABV, they also sell flavorings one of these days I am going to make the Jagermeister
Just to let you guys know I bought a clone kit from my LHBS of their harvest pale ale and it turned out excellent. Which is good because after my first batch I was doubting this hobby.
Thanks for the responses. I think it is just going to get dumped as it is taking up 3 TAD bottles and I am brewing again in the next couple days. I know it was the extract and the perfume description is good. Seriously it is the worst thing I have ever tasted and really does make me and everyone...
I have to dump my first batch. It is a Bavarian wheat extract kit from midwest. I sampled it when it was done fermenting and it tasted good. I wanted something different so I talked to the guy at my LHBS and he recommended using a flavor extract. I got the mango extract and dumped it in at...
OK that's understandable. I thought you were referring to a firearm and even with my beliefs on gun control thats just crazy.
It does appear no one is going to come to an agreement here. Some see it as cute and safe some see it as careless and potentially dangerous. I assume it has something...
I assume you mean they let you shoot it under strict supervision? If not either you are a story teller or you had some extremely irresponsible and completely stupid parents. Who the hell gives a six year old a firearm? It is one thing to take a 6 year old to the range and let them plink around...
I am not saying it is likely but it is possible. It is funny you bring up firearms. As I am sure many people can tell by my name (Right To Keep and bear Arms) I have numerous firearms in my home and guess what no child has access to them. If I posted saying that my one year old was playing with...
exactly, while a child will get into everything they have access to it is the parents responsibility to ensure they do not have access to potentially harmful items.
ohiosteve, you say the amount is negligible meaning it is not enough to worry about. While i have never measured how much goes...
I understand that. Do you and the others that posted on here saying it is not a big deal realize that it only takes a few ounces of alcohol to cause alcohol poisoning in a child that age? I did a quick google search and found a case of a 6 month baby who died with a BAC of .205. The medical...
So your 1 year old child has been playing in vodka and your main concern is whether or not your beer is ruined. Also this has happened 4-5 times? You are supposed to be smarter then a one year old. How many times does it have to happen before you realize it was not a good idea to have it...
I brewed a Bavarian wheat extract kit from Midwest and it has been fermenting for a few days longer then the instructions say. I took a reading today and the gravity is right on where it should be.My question is when I tasted the sample it had a tingling sensation almost like licking a 9 volt...
