    Why use a jockey box?

    I gotta be missing something here. I am looking to serve my beer out of a 5g corny keg. Why wouldn't I just put the keg in a tub of ice instead of serving in a jockey box? Wouldn't I need the keg cold as well as the box to use a jockey box. Please 'splain. :confused:

    I have to mash at 1 qt/lb. What will this do?

    I usually mash at 1.25+ qt/lb of grain. I am doing a 12g batch and at my 68% eff, I have to max out at 1 qt/lb. or I won't have enough space in my mashtun (10g round cooler). Should I plan on any difference in eff or anything else?
