New England IPA 12 Day Session NEIPA

I wanted to brew this beer for two reason, one to see if I could and two because I had a party coming up and like so many recipes, this was based on necessity! Efficiency: 70% Ingredients: 6 lbs US 2-row malt 2 lbs white wheat malt 2 lbs flaked oats 4 oz Crystal 120L 4 oz lactose 1 oz...

Fresh, Fast Cider - Fermented & Served from 1 Keg

I would be wary of that, the cider will continue to ferment possibly down to 1.000 or close to it and that will certainly create a bottle bomb if you bottle it around the same SG that I sealed the keg. By putting it in the fridge I'm slowing the fermentation down so we try and drink it within a...

Fresh, Fast Cider - Fermented & Served from 1 Keg

I did actually make a batch this year, it's tasting great! I'm glad to see that folks, a year later, are finally trying it! Cheers!

Fresh, Fast Cider - Fermented & Served from 1 Keg

I made this again using Wyeast 1028, sealing the keg at 1.016, fermenting to 1.012 and refrigerating. Details: http://www.allgrains.net/2013/09/fresh-london-cider.html PERFECT! Much more apple character and a fresher taste. I'd stick with 1028 from now on for my tastes, but you can try any...

Fresh, Fast Cider - Fermented & Served from 1 Keg

After 24 hours in the fridge I poured off about a pint into a sanitary jar (saved the yeast for next batch) and then one more. After that it was just cider and very little or no yeast - definitely no yeasty flavors. I did confirm through a cobra tap. Do make sure to agitate the sample enough to...

    Hello from Boston!

I'm in Somerville and oh so wishing I had the cash to beat the new nano/micro breweries that are starting around here. I have the ideas, just not the money :P

What don't you get? It's delicious, has beer in it and is full of unhealthy fat :D

    Should I dump it?

Glad to hear it - I wasn't too happy about dumping 4 gallons but glad I had a use for at least one. It was my first truly rotten beer - there have been weak ones and boring ones but this was beyond that ;) I agree with the folks above, trust those buds - it can't kill ya! ^_^

    Hello from Boston!

I have been on the site for a long while now and never really introduced myself! My name is Alex and I've been brewing for about 2.5 years now. I love it and am often times obsessed but Homebrewtalk keeps me sane (or feeds my addiction) and has taught me so much! Big thanks to the...

    Should I dump it?

You can always try to make vinegar with some of it! http://allgrains.blogspot.com/2012/11/bad-beer-make-some-malt-vinegar.html

    Abita Turbodog clone

Funny, I just get an email notification as I'm kegging this! It's good (I used WLP029 yeast) but I'm not convinced of its complexity just yet, compared to the original. Anyone else brew it?

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Question: How do I clean my new DIY Beer Gun?.... Seems like it makes more work than the "ad" describes. ;)

    Abita Turbodog clone

I love Turbodog and will be brewing this soon but I've never done an Alt style before. What are the fermentation times & temps associated with this beer/yeast?

    Toffee Apple Pear Cider

I'm bottling this today. The gravity is just under 1.000. I wish I was able to mix the honey and cider more during brewing so that I could have a proper OG reading. Not sure how 1.060 or 1.010 were attained. : \ Edit* I put it into beersmith with some guesswork via the forums and logic and...
