    Buckboard Bacon- Pork butt bacon...

A local grocery has pork butts on sale for a bargain. I ended up with 6 of them. I've searched around and found a link to "Buckboard Bacon" or bacon made from a boned out pork butt. Anyone have any experience with this? I'd love to try it...

    Sprouts already....

Not one multi day freeze, lots of recent rain, and ~60° weather has this happening. Should I just pinch them all off as soon as they're long enough?

Tips and tricks for transplanting potted hops

I started two rhizomes this year of Cascade and Centennial, and one crown of Chinook. They all grew fairly well and produced a little. I'm going to transplant them this winter into a raised bed that I have not yet built. Any ideas on the best plan of attack on building a raised bed. Soil...

    St Arnold Pumpkinator

I've got a bottle or two I can part with for some other regional specialties not available to me. I'm willing to try and track down any other beers available to me that may be out of your reach. Seekabrew.com is a good resource. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/337/74106 Thanks Wayne

    Racetrack Keg O-ring help

I got a racetrack keg this weekend from Kegconnection. They provided the usual 5 o-ring replacement set but upon disassembly it turns out there are a few more. Does anyone know the #'s for the additional orings or a source for them?

    Keezer temp control hardwiring

Could someone simplify the wiring for me like quaffer has done here.https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/converting-frigidaire-7-2-cu-ft-chest-freezer-162225/ I'd like to wire my stc1000 the same and I'm pretty useless when it comes to electrical anything. I've seen some impressive diagram skills...

    Imperial stout grain bill

I'm planning a brew for a bourbon imperial stout. I've got 4 oz of oak chips soaking in about 5 oz of bourbon. I plan on only adding the chips with about 2 oz of the bourbon. I was pumped and amazed that I emailed St Arnold at about 9 pm last night and got a reply almost immediately from...

    Pickle smelling washed yeast

Well.... I washed kolsch yeast and stored in a pickle jar because all of my mason jars were in use. Poor planning on my part. I washed the hell out of the jar and it had no pickle smell when I washed it. Of course I didn't give thought to the lid. Gave it a good cleaning but didn't smell it...

    BIAB split batch suggestion needed

I'd like to make a 10 gallon batch of kolsch doing BIAB. I'm going for a more bohemian pilsner type grain/hop bill. What I would really like to do is make a 5 gallon batch as-is and the other 5 gallon batch with some carafa II added to make a schwarzbier type beer. Long story short, how can...

    Does this need some CaraPils?

Doing a Blonde that I'll be hopbursting. I'll thinking of hitting about 20 ibu with a combo of Centennial and Simcoe in the last 15 minutes. With such a light grain bill I'm thinking about adding a bit of mouthfeel with Carapils unless you think the wheat and c15 will do the trick. 5 lbs...

Nelson Sauvin- Better alone or paired?

I've got 8 oz and I'd like to know how your experiences have gone with Nelson Sauvin. I'm going to make a pale ale and I'm not sure if they're best alone or would pair well with some good American northwest hops. I've got a pretty wide variety on hand but no Amarillo.

    Lunch pissed me off today....

First off, God Bless America. Now the rant. I was sitting in a German deli today for lunch. Ate a reuben and drank a few Spaten lagers on draft. It really hit me hard for some reason just looking at our table what our culture has diluted down. Three things jumped out at me that we've really...

Lagunitas Daytime, Anyone else excited about this?

There has been a lot of discussion on the forums about brewing this style of beer. Looks like one of the big boys will give us an example. Looks like a lot of ibu's for such a low abv. Can't wait to try it though
