S-04 - Not liking this yeast

I've used it a handful of times and I never got phenolic or twangy from it. My biggest gripe is that it is kind of one dimensional ester profile and doesn't have as much character as a number of the traditional Brit liquid strains.

    Plate Chiller Feed Options?

I feed a duda diesel plate with gravity using a ball valve and dip tube I installed in my boil kettle. Works like a charm for me...YMMV.

Is it posible to have no esters from WLP300?

That's exactly how I described an overpitch of WLP013 I did a little while back....zero esters & absurdly high attenuation for the strain; like the beer was stripped clean.

    Homemade bagels

I use the recipe and technique from Reinhart's book....they come out phenomenal. People have actually asked me to sell them a batch of bagles after trying them:drunk:

Pliny the Elder - Delivered to Your Door

There are places that will ship to states that do not permit beer/wine/liquor shipments on the sly if you contact them and inquire.....chatting about it on the internet, in plain view, is not the best thing to do if you want it to continue.

    Breweries near Philly

Definitely hit Stoudts, Victory and Sly Fox on your way from Pottsville to the city....once you get to Philadelphia proper: Nodding Head, Triumph & Yards. Then hit some of the excellent beer bars. There's more than enough excellent beer in the city that you don't have to hit all of the out of...
