    What's a good Summer beer?

Yes... Yes it is. AB/InBev isn't Molson/Coors... Blue Moon was designed by Molson/Coors, where Hoegaarden was simply baught out by AB/InBev... Not designed by them. Not sure where you were going with that but, none the less :mug:

    Always trust your hydrometer.

lol I think you misunderstood me my friend, I had no intention of saying fermentation couldn't have taken place because there was no airlock activity. I'm very aware that hydrometer readings are the only direct, concise method to determine whether a batch of wort has been fermenting or not. I...

Should I Transfer To Secondary After 3 Weeks In Primary?

From my understanding, secondary is really only used for clearing the brew. In my experiences, it does help minimize sediment in the bottles, but either way, you should let the brew do its thing for atleast 4-5 weeks imo. Even if you see nothing from the airlock, the yeast army is still working...

    What's a good Summer beer?

Agreed, blonde ales are my favorite on a hot summer day... Well actually water is, but the beer for night time lol. Really anything to the extent of Hoegaarden... Blue Moon tends to be too sweet for me personally, annnd it's made by Coors... Sooo...

Worst bar experience ever! (Greenville, SC)

I never said going to Iraq gave him the right to be a ''****** bag'', I said experiences over-seas can make it highly difficult (and sometimes impossible) to resume civilian life. Yes, there are medications and therapy which can help, but there are always pieces left with you. Something about...

    No More Home Brew

I second that. Also, have them keep an eye on your gall bladder. What they don't tell you is that having a low fat diet and losing a whooole bunch of weight (gonna take more than 20lbs ofcourse) creates gall stones. Some people are lucky, and get several small ones. A friend of mine...

Worst bar experience ever! (Greenville, SC)

I have several friends who have come back from fighting the war in the middle east, and a good deal of them (those who have seen combat) are on edge atleast some of the time... So if this is the case, he has the right to have a shorter fuse than the rest of us.... And if you think otherwise, go...

    Always trust your hydrometer.

That's pretty weird, maybe you had a leak around the seal of your carboy/bucket? I've never heard of yeast being able to work without farting out some co2 lol. Anyway glad it turned out good!

Question about making a stawberry blonde

Don't mean to threadjack here but curious as to the difference between adding the strawberries during primary, as to secondary?

Is my cider fermenting? It can't be...

Well thanks for the posts guys! I ended up making a starter for the yeasts last night and added it to the ehh... wort? ... Late this morning. Also added yeast nutrient to try and make them a little extra happy and the fermenter is still bubbling about once per second, maybe a hair more...

Is my cider fermenting? It can't be...

Just trying something not too many other people have. It's a twist off another recipe from a friend... Whose end result turned out great. Ended up using strawberries, kiwi, and some other fruits as well. Looking for a hard cider type flavor with a hint of strawberry and spice, and a mild alcohol...

Is my cider fermenting? It can't be...

Go figure this was my first batch of anything I didn't take an OGR... Guess I'll be winging this one, adding the yeast and hoping for the best. There's definitely temperature changes and barometric changes as well (have had some nutty weather here the last few days) so maybe thats part of it...

Is my cider fermenting? It can't be...

Actually not sure if the cider is potassium benzoate free or not... Shouldn't have any considering its UV pasteurized, labeled ''raw''. And WOW I guess I missed the most important part here... I haven't pitched my yeast yet, which is why I was concerned about the bubbling! The only...

Is my cider fermenting? It can't be...

I'm told pasturized cider contains sugars that aren't fermentable by yeast (although I've also heard juice pasturized by UV light WILL ferment unlike heat pasturization). So if I use that to backsweeten, I'm keeping the general cider flavor and adding something that wont possibly cause bottle...

Is my cider fermenting? It can't be...

Alright so this is my first shot at cider... Got a hold of a farm that hooked me up with some untainted cider, so to speak, and here's the recipe: 4 gallons cider 2lbs brown sugar 4lbs strawberries, sliced Fresh Cinnomon Nutmeg 1 gallon of pasturized cider for backsweetening later on...
