    Curse You Bottling!!!

Kegging is great until you have a CO2 leak that you can't find and you lose several full tanks! Bottling on the other hand has become just an extension of the labor of love for the hobby. Cheers

    Is this normal??? (competition question)

Interesting. I was listening to the award ceremony at GABF yesterday and one of the catergories only had bronze and silver medals awarded. There was no Gold medal for that particular style. So I guess if they can do it, there must be something to the point. I just naturally thought the...

    Using fresh hops

I have been invited to a hb club member's home to pick some fresh Cascade hops. My questions: How are these used? Do they need to be dried? How are they stored? Without an alpha analysis, how does one judge its %?

I just brewed a coconut porter using total of 7 oz of unsweetened coconut. 3.5 oz lightly toasted as previously stated and added at knock out. Then another 3.5 slightly toasted after fermentation for about 5 days. It came out really good even though its not prime porter season.

    2017 Homebrew Con - Who's going?

I drove up to the one in Baltimore last year and it was a blast. Came home with 2 shopping bags full of stuff including an extract kit. If you stay til close to the end, the vendors will give away almost all the stuff they brought. A friend came away with a full sack of 2 row. Have fun...
