    I did not take care of my hops

    Last year I let my hops go. Yesterday I cleaned up the mess. I had 3 to 5 ft vines running through the weeds and up the barn side. I cleaned out the weeds and had to cut back the vines to a 1 to 1 1/2 ft. Will they grow back after such a agressive trim? M&M

    My wife asked me to clean up a corner of the basement... I have not brewed for 3 years. I found a Quart of Calif Ale. and 3, 12oz. bottles of carbonated pear wine. I looked in my records and the ale was bottled in Feb of 08, and the perry was bottled in April of 03. I chilled them real good...

    Whats the longest amount of time you've gone between brews

    My last bottled batch was in 09. Wife asked my to clean up my corner of the basement last night. I found a quart of Calif. ale bottled in 2-08, and a bottle of Parry (carbonated pear wine) bottled in 2-03. I put them in the refrigerator to chill and maybe will not gush so bad. Cannot wait to...

    How can you tell if the beer is carbonating?

    I bottled 5 gal. of calif. ale, and 5 gal of Burton ale 2 weeks ago. I was worried when a week went by and beer was still flat..My basement dark corner floor is 60 degrees. I moved a 6 pack upstairs to my closet 69 degrees. I waited 4 days and tried an upstairs beer and it is starting to fizz...

    Barleywine Bottles

    I have used 6oz. old acl pop bottles for 3 years now. Collected them at flea markets. Many more beers per batch... I have never had a problem w/ clear glass, I keep my beer in the dark till use it anyway. M&M

    Priming Sugar??? What to use?

    I use local honey. For 5 gal. 3/4 cup = 1lb.. Priming I use 1/4 cup honey disolved in water. I boil the honey and water in the microwave for several minutes, let it cool a bit then add it to the bottom of my bottle bucket. Siphon beer to bottle bucket and bottle as usual.

    I Always Taste My Brew Any Time I Get The Chance. Usually The Only Time Is At Bottling. When I Am Careful There Is Not Enough To Drink ,just Taste. M&m
