    Cider finished fermenting after about 5 days - is that too quick?

    I brewed a demijohn of 4:4:1 of sweet crisp:golden delicious:bramley Added wine yeast as directed, fermentation started the next day, then about 5 days later it had stopped, and there is 1-2 inches of yeast? at the bottom. Now my question: will it be ok to syphon of to another container...

    Suggested mix of readily available apples for cider?

    Hi there, I would like to brew my first batch of cider from apples, i only have access to apples which are available in stores / markets in England. Which commonly available apples will work together to make a decent cider and what sort of ratios do i want to use? Thanks for you help.

    Brew in airlock - is this a problem?

    Hi there, I'm currently brewing a spirit base kit I bought from a home brew shop. I originally put water in the airlock, after one day my brew is in the airlock, is this undesirable and does it need to be sorted? Thanks
