    eBIAB Build with Pump Toolbox

My first thought after the brew was "holy crap, I cut two hours off my brew day and didn't really have to monitor the process." I didn't set up the PID correctly, so the first 15-30 minutes of my mash was playing around with the temps and settings. I finally figured out that I needed to run...

    eBIAB Build with Pump Toolbox

Everything is inside the box. I haven't cleaned up the wiring yet, which is the main reason there isn't a picture of the inside. The fain is directly next to the SSR and heatsink, so it stays really cool. I did a 90 minute mash today with the pump running the entire time. The air coming...

    eBIAB Build with Pump Toolbox

Ok, I think this is everything. I kept pretty good track, the first number is how many I bought, then the item, then the cost, then the link where I bought it. I already had a heat exchanger, so I didn't include that in the price list. Notes: To save cost, you could probably lose the 4"...

    eBIAB Build with Pump Toolbox

The pump head is completely outside of the toolbox, so if it leaked, it would be outside. The toolbox isn't waterproof (no sealing gasket or anything), but will keep drips out. It's all connected to a GFCI spa panel, so if anything does go terribly wrong, the breaker will trip and I wont die.

    GE FCM5 Keezer Build

I got 3 in there, but subsequently sold it.

    eBIAB Build with Pump Toolbox

After 6 months, I've finally got everything bought and built! Full Setup Tool Box I cut some corners (mainly the twist lock stuff) but ended up with pretty much exactly what I wanted. Many thanks to Kal for his help and amazing website, P-J for his designs, and the users here for...

    RTDs reading different temps

I am using the RTDs on the same PID. Ill do as you suggest and calibrate on the 50mm, as it'll be taking the mash temp and the 4" is sitting in the boil. I guess I don't really need the 4", but since I drilled a hole in my kettle, it's staying for now.

    RTDs reading different temps

(sorry for the cross post with DIY, but I wasn't getting any views/responses) I have the ever popular SYL-2352 and two RTD probes, a 4" and a 50mm and I've got them wired up to the quick disconnects - all from Auber. I was calibrating the PID and noticed that the probes read the...

    RTD's reading different temps

I have the ever popular SYL-2352 and two RTD probes, a 4" and a 50mm and I've got them wired up to the quick disconnects - all from Auber. I was calibrating the PID and noticed that the probes read the temperature differently, to the tune of 4-5 degrees. The 4" is reading 32-33 and the...

    Spa Panel keeps tripping

I wasn't able to get to the back of my dryer, but I was able to plug in the (not connected to anything at this point) cord I'm going to be using. It didn't trip and I was able to test the voltage coming from the two hot legs and it looks like everything is working fine. Thanks for the...

    Spa Panel keeps tripping

Do you mean, "make sure the neutral bar isn't somehow touching the enclosure?" I will check when I get home.

    Spa Panel keeps tripping

I mean "Plugging the dryer into it without turning it on" basically, I plug the spa panel into the wall, okeydokey. As soon as I plug in the dryer, it trips. I haven't wired my control panel yet, so I don't really have anything else to plug in to it. I guess I could wrap the exposed...

    Spa Panel keeps tripping

I followed the P-Js 4 wire diagram, and the breaker trips as soon as I plug something into the outlet (like the dryer) even with no load. What am I doing wrong here? Please note that the neutral wire, from the breaker to the outlet, is green because I didn't have 10g white wire. Does it...

Planning an eBIAB build and could use some help

Ok, so I updated the wiring and put the contactor in front of the element plug and changed the yellow LED to a SW. Now, when the control box is plugged in, the hot bus is energized and the PID and Timer get power. The pump and elements are controlled by switches. I changed my e-stop to the...

Planning an eBIAB build and could use some help

So I spent some time in Visio properly designing my system. If you guys could double check my work before I put in my orders, that would be great! Questions: 1. As far as the wiring goes, it seems like a lot of people are using a contactor and a physical switch before the element, but...

Planning an eBIAB build and could use some help

Luckily our house is new enough to have the ground wire. Is running it through a circuit with a 30 amp breaker on it going to be ok?

Planning an eBIAB build and could use some help

Thanks for the info. I think I'll go the "Portable Spa Panel" route. We have two 240v circuits that I can use, the electric range (40 amp breaker) or the electric dryer (30 amp breaker) - both in my kitchen. The main breaker box is also in the kitchen, so I guess running a new 240v circuit...

Planning an eBIAB build and could use some help

What would you suggest for recirculating? I assume I need to spread out the liquid over the bag to get the benefits of recirculating. Can I recirculate by just whirlpooling from the top of the kettle or should I use a sprayer or one of those Loc Line things (which looks like it just...

Planning an eBIAB build and could use some help

That is pretty similar, thanks! I agree that $150 is a tough pill to swallow, plus i dont think it'll work because the height of the bag/basket and the u-bend in the arm. Do you have a larger version of the wiring diagram? What software did you use to make it?

Planning an eBIAB build and could use some help

Pretty much. It ain't pretty, but I use the tools I have. This comment seems to arise in most of the eBIAB build threads. Nothing has to be complicated. We can just go buy beer at the store. To each his own, I'm just trying to get some help from the people that have gone this route before.
