Belgian Quadrupel label made with vinyl cutter

I am taking a 2d/3d printing class at the local community college and we learned how to use a vinyl cutter, so I made experimented with a beer label. They turned out pretty good. Pic of the vector file: :mug:

Badger Hops are the Choicest Bohemian Hops

Found this little box online. Now it lives in the living room. Info said it is from the 1920's during prohibition, but there is no date on the box. The box was unfolded and unused. Regardless of whether or not it is actually an original or is a reproduction, it sure is neat! They seem to pop up...

    Vintage Sears Home Winemaking Kit

I came across this in a thrift store today...I couldn't resist buying it and sharing it here. The instructions weren't in the box but the details on the side/back describe the recommended process very well. I also couldn't find a date on the box, but those folks sure are dressed all trendy like.

Historic Cincinnati Breweries/Distilleries from 1912 Sewerage Plans

Our records department recently scanned a sewer plan from 1912-1913. A part of the plan includes information on all major industrial users, which included a list of all breweries in the Cincinnati area at the time. I put together the excerpts of the sewer plan that included any information on...

Anyone know why dry lager yeast's gotten so expensive?

$5 bucks for w-23 or w-34/70 following proper pitching rates, you need two packets that's 10 bucks for dry yeast!

Lazy Man's Solution to fixing a bottled batch that never carbs

Blend it with another beer right before drinking! I brewed a Bigfoot clone a couple years back. It ended up at about 11-12% using S-05. After bottling it never carbed. It tastes delicious, except that it's not carbed. So I blend it with another brew on hand. In this case, I blended the cellar...

Toasting Oatmeal - What color am I looking for?

I spread out 10 oz of oatmeal on two cookie sheets at 325F in the oven, and after 10-15 minutes they started getting really brown/almost burning. Toasted oats on the right, untoasted oats on the left. Is this too dark? Am I looking for a deep yellow/light brown color? I'm trying again with...

    Got pwned by Barleywine

So I brewed up this small 3 gallon batch of barleywine, pitched her on a yeast cake of London Ale III into a 5 gallon carboy on Tuesday evening. Just put the good ol' airlock on. Fermentation started real quick, was bubbling within a few hours. Wednesday morning, bubbling like crazy, but...

    Partial-Mash Mini-Keg Lauter Tun

It's cold outside, so a 3 gallon batch of barleywine on the stove top sounds like a good idea. Whenever I try a partial mash with the mesh bags and colander I have, I just make a huge sticky mesh...so I need a tiny lauter tun instead... So what to use? Ah, I've got an old Two Hearted Ale Mini...

    Easy Aeration Kit Mod

Not my original idea, but this is a simple mod to add a racking cane to your aeration kit. I have AHS's aeration kit, and the tubing always stays curled up and I can never seem to get the aeration stone more than a few inches into the wort. By adding a racking cane, you can easily get the...
