What music are y'all listening too tonight?

Right now (and most of the time) I've got Rush. Lately I've been on an Iron Maiden kick though.

I gotta say... Those are some beautiful panoramas you have there.

    Aquarium heater

It depends on the volume of your tub. Aquarium heaters have varying wattages for different sized tanks. It will say on the packaging what volume its appropriate for. Choose (at minimum) the next wattage up for your volume. Get a powerhead too for an even distribution. Brand really wont matter.

    Brass Faucet Concerns

Per your advice this is exactly what I did. I was surprised by the amount of crud in that thing! Thanks! I've actually been a stalker on these boards for a while, but only recently have actually became active. Both solid pieces of advice. From now on, neither children or pregnant women...

My cat wants to be a brew kitty

Sounds to me like he doesn't want to help brew, but instead wants to be the brew. Feed him some yeast and let that kitty ferment! :D

Sweet Bday Gift from my Girlfriend

She sounds like a keeper. Happy B-Day too! A couple years ago, mine gave me the kit to start homebrewing. She has regretted it ever since :)

    Brass Faucet Concerns

My father recently gave me the draft setup he obtained from my grandfather which has been around since the at least the mid-80s. Its pretty much been unused since the early 90s (as far as I know). I converted a my wife's old dorm fridge into a kegerator with a tower. I'd like to use the old...

Old Brass Ten Tap Tower Restoration Project

Ah that is a wonderful wife you have there! I can't wait to see the final product.

    No starting gravity taken, Problem?

Worrying wouldn't do anything at this point. The only real thing to do is bottle (as you have) let it carb up and give it a taste. Measuring the SG is good for monitoring how far along you are in fermenting (as well as estimating things like ABV., etc.). But really... Relax. Don't worry. Have...

Miller Home Draft Minikegs About to go extinct?

Mediocre is an awful generous description :) I tried this same thing last summer, but had problems with the tap leaking CO2. I also had a tough time finding 18g (I think) cartridges for a reasonable price.

For those in the Ithaca area...

Hydroponics Shops of America (newly relocated to a warehouse next to The Haunt and across from Inlet Glass and Mirror) is now selling homebrewing supplies. There equipment selection is still fairly limited, but its nice to have an option now that Ithaca Beer stopped selling supplies. They has...

    Basement Brew Pub

I think you need to consider getting your home rezoned mixed used because you're set up is just too amazing to keep for yourself.

Yeah, I mentioned that. Though it's still something I'd look into :/

First time build - PortaBeer, a portable beer dispenser (pics)

This is a really cool project! One concern though... While researching small CO2 cartridges in an attempt to reuse a Miller Home Draft, I found out that unless the cartridge is food grade, oil is left behind during the manufacturing process. Off flavors didn't appear to be a problem, but I was...

to secondary or not to secondary, that is the question

There seems to be a lot of back and forth on whether or not using a secondary is necessary; both of which appear to have their merits. In your case (and I'm in the same situation), one reason to use a secondary is to have more than one batch going at once without having to buy another fermenter...

    Undercarbed First Batch - Fix?

+1 for more time. Last July l made an IPA that has only recently been showing signs of being fully carbed.
