Double IPA Kern River Citra DIPA

I brewed this on 3/24 and stuck to the recipe with the exception of of using wyeast 1056. Kept in primary for 21 days and racked to a keg for dry hopping. Got down to 1.008. Close to 8% ABV. It turned out awesome. The balance between the hops and malt is perfect and goes down SMOOTH. If you can...

3 FLoyds Zombie Dust attempt. Help/info requested

I finally kegged my ZD 2 weeks ago and sampled some this week. I used the skeezerpleezer recipe in this thread with London ESB yeast. I also dry hopped with 4 oz of Citra instead of 3. It turned out amazing. I think the aroma and taste are spot on. Here's a pic of the clone against the original...

    Cascade/Citra IPA advice

I brewed two IPA's last weekend. Same exact recipes except the base malt I used in one was American 2 row and the other Maris Otter. I'll be using 1.5 oz of citra as my dry hop in both. Never used citra and can't wait to taste the results.

    Hoppy Wheat Beer

+1 on on Three Floyds Gumballhead. I made a clone of it recently and turned out fantastic. Very close to the real thing. Gumballhead is hard to find right now because of it's generous use of Amarillo hops. Are you looking for an AG recipe?

    Critique The Grain Bill

I recently brewed my first original recipe IPA and used crystal 40 and honey malt and it turned out awesome. I matched my projected SG with my IBU's (used chinook as my bittering hops and amarillo for flavor, aroma and dry hopping) and it worked out great. Sampling some of that said IPA right...

Help with new all grain setup

I was in a similar situation that you are in. Did 3 extract/specialty grain batches and jumped into all grain. I used a 52 qt Coleman Extreme and made a cpvc manifold. I have to say that it works great (I batch sparge). I consistently get 75-80% efficiency. Good luck.

    Bell's Hopslam

Bought a sixer a few days ago. Amazing flavor to this one. The citrus/grapefruity flavor is amazingly pronounced. It's 10% ABV but you would never know it by tasting it. Very smooth. Have to go back and get some more before they're gone!

    Question about all grain

I would also invest the $20 in a brewing software like Beersmith. It takes the guesswork out of calculating your strike temperature and schedules your brew day so you don't miss anything in your brew process. I started all grain brewing back in the spring using the batch sparge method and a 52...

    Chicago Beer Scene

With all due respect to Pappers, it's Three Floyds, not Two Floyds - unless one of the Floyds left? ;) Regardless, their beers are great and it's an excellent brew pub. Good luck in Chicago.

First All Grain was a success!

Congrats on your your first AG. I just finished my 2nd AG last weekend. Hit all my temps and OG perfectly. My 1st AG was a simple blonde ale and the recipe was based on 75% efficiency and I hit 83% with batch sparging. I'm enjoying a few pints of that brew now off the keg which ended up at 7%...

    Fermenting in a keezer question

Here's my situation - I have a new keezer that I'm currently carbing a corney using the set-and-forget method. It's been in at 40 degrees at 12 psi for just 4 days so far. I'm brewing an AG batch this weekend and want to use the keezer to control my fermentation temps as well. Is it advisable to...

    Cheers From NW Indiana

Hello fellow home brewers ... I started partial extract brewing back in March and I'm getting ready for my first AG batch next weekend. Been gathering as much info as possible on HBT (which is AWESOME) and YouTube. The last of my AG equipment will arrive next week via FedEx and I'll be AG-ing...
